A Proud Terror

I obviously play a lot of videogames (as evidenced by my obsesive references to them and my gamerprofile on the right), and sometimes can loose track of time, but this time I am positive that I didn’t look away for more than a minute. Alina was upstairs taking a shower and I was (as already said, playing some Call of Duty 2) , Rachael was with me and was just walking around the living room. I got a little suspicious when she walked over to the front door, but I could still here her and she sounded just fine. Not a minute passes when I don’t see her anymore and can barely hear her. So I put down the controller and went to look for her, but I couldn’t find her anywhere. But I did hear her calling for “mom-me” so I kept following the sound which took me upstairs to find her wandering around room to room looking for mom-me. We never thought that she would be able to climb the stairs because they are steep and she had never been around them before, so we didn’t think she would get very far, but she got all the way up in less than a minute which is why I was so stunned.

When I found her, I was so proud of her accomplishment of climbing the stairs and for her looking around for mom-me thant I almost missed being terrified of what could have happened to her had she fallen. I don’t think I have ever been so proud and so scared at the same time. Obviosly, that scared us enough to make us realize that we need to be much more careful about the stairs from here on out, gates and all.
