More Plugins Please

I have been trying to add some new stuff to my site recently and have hit a wall. The first thing that I want is a good photo gallery to post all of the pictures of Rachael and other fun pics. I think I have narrowed it down to a program called Gallery2 which integrates well into Wordpress, but it is nearly impossible to upload all of my pics, in their original sizes because of some rules that the program must follow about how much it can upload at one time. I was hoping to use the website as my main image storage location, where I could upload all of my files and people could see them in whatever size they wanted (including the original size for printing).

The next thing I have been itching for is a good file browser so that I can share different files (especially multimedia) with people, and they with me.

I am also looking for a good plugin to allow you guys to add some of your favorite links and websites to a list that everyone can see. Wordpress has a way to do links, but it is a much more flat way of doing it. The links in wordpress are designed to be links from one person, not many people as I would like. But, again, if you are interested and have something to say, I am happy to make you an author that can add links and write your own posts, just email me.

So, anyway if anybody has got any suggestions I am definitely open to them. Also, it doesn’t take a Where’s Waldo addict to have noticed that I have added two new plugins. The first is a poll to just ask some random questions of you and make the site a little more interactive. And the second is a list of the top commentors. This list shows the top five people who have commented on my posts, it’s just one more way to get some competition going on for those of you out there who thrive on that.

Feel free to suggest your ideas about what I should do on this site and what plugins you think might be cool to see.

  1. You need to make sure you check with your web host about their rules on hosting media files. A lot of them have limits and will suspend your account if you go over.

  2. Yeah, that would normally be a problem, but I use a good hosting company (www.ipowerweb.com), that gives me 300GB of storage and 3000GB of transfer per month. Yes, those numbers are correct (I do have 3TB of transfer available per month). Plus I don’t have too many friends anyway to eat up that bandwidth.
